The uniqueness of the Dignity sling may not be apparent at first glance but it has a number of features that sets this sling apart in the marketplace.
Having listened to countless complaints about the comfort of the traditional Dress/Toileting slings we decided it was time for this to stop. We analysed in detail the points of concern in terms of client comfort. The design brief was to create a sling that enabled significantly improved comfort, quick application, and retained dignity at all times during any transfer. The geometry of this sling has been analysed in detail using Computer Aided Design, but not only this, it has been tested using live personnel to guarantee comfort and dignity at all times.
The unique removal of edge binding on the leg sections reduces pressure on the client’s legs thus reducing the potential of pressure sores developing. It also significantly reduces the complaints of discomfort.
Increased padding under the arms has been incorporated onto this sling as standard to ensure increased comfort and reducing any potential for injury to the Scapula.
The Dignity sling offers excellent access for Toileting, is very easy and quick to apply.
Having listened carefully to healthcare professionals we have ensured that there is no Velcro on any of the Nurture sling. Velcro harbours bacteria and over a period of time becomes very ineffective in its effectiveness. The waistband is therefore padded and is fastened by two strong clip buckles.
Padding on the leg sections comes as standard and the foam has been careful to withstand higher washing temperatures. This additional feature has been included to enable higher washing temperatures and so reducing the spread of infection.
The Dignity sling is available in standard poly, clip and loop fix. if ordering the clip fix Dignity sling this will be supplied with head support.
