We have been supplying riser recliner chairs for over 5 years ensuring 100’s of people like you to relax in comfort and style in your own home. Choosing the right riser recliner chair can be tricky as there are some fundamental options to choose from. To make the selection process as easy for you as possible, we have put together a guide to help you choose the right riser recliner chair for you.

Making Space For Your Recliner

Riser recliner chairs are bigger than normal armchairs. So you need to make sure you have adequate room for your new recliner. Some recliner chairs recline flat so if you choose one of these models you will need to allow more room for the chair to recline fully.

You may have to rearrange your furniture around to make space for your new recliner chair. Think about what you would like to do when you’re using your chair such as watching television, or maybe you like to be near a window for natural light. Some chairs are designed nowadays to allow the riser recliner chair to recline even when it is up against a wall.

Recliner Style

Your new riser recliner chair will take pride of place in your room, so you’ll want to choose a style that fits in with your decor and other furniture.

We offer a wide range of colours and fabrics to choose from so you’ll be sure to find something that suits and compliments your current furniture. We also offer different back styles too. The style you can see in the picture is what we call a ‘waterfall back’. These are by far our most popular option as they offer the most comfort and support.

Recliner Measurements

When choosing your chair, it is important that you know what size you will need. There are four main measurements that you will need to get right:

  • Seat Depth
  • Seat Height
  • Seat Width
  • Footrest Position

Getting these measurements correct is important to ensure that you achieve ultimate comfort posture at all times.

Single or Twin Motor?

A single motor riser recliner chair, as the name suggested, operates via just one motor. When the button is pressed, both the back and the footrest adjust at the same time. Single motor chairs are often cheaper than twin or dual motors but you don’t get to be able to adjust the backrest and the footrest independently of each other.

Twin motor chairs give you the ability to control the backrest and footrest independently of each other allowing much more scope to get comfortable in your desired position. Dual motor riser recliner chairs are becoming very popular due to their versatility.
